- What is Radon? Radon is a colorless, odorless, radioactive gas that forms naturally from the decay of uranium in soil, rock, and water. It can enter homes and buildings through cracks and openings in foundations.
- Why is Radon Dangerous? Breathing air with elevated radon levels over time increases the risk of lung cancer. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers and the second leading cause overall.
- How Does Radon Enter Homes? Radon moves up through the ground and seeps into buildings through cracks in floors, walls, foundations, and other openings.
